The moon was in my eyes.

Do you ever wake up in the morning and remember a thought you had in the middle of the night? You know it had seemed clear then, when you clasped onto it momentarily between sleep, but now it's foggy and confusing.

Last night, I woke up suddenly because the moon was in my eyes. I looked blearily out the slit of the window next to my bed, and saw it shining there, almost bright as day.

And I smiled, almost manicly, and thought, "Of course. It's Easter. The night can't even stay dark."

"Light of the World," William Holman Hunt
